Southend-on-Sea City Council is seeking a technician to join the Highways Asset Management Team on a full time and permanent basis. This contract is offered on a flexible and hybrid working pattern. The role is primarily to support the highway insurance claims process, highway searches delivery function including street naming and numbering and Public Rights of Way and to assist with developing and managing adoption records and processes undertaking internal audits to ensure compliance within the team is adhered to. To be successful in this role, it is essential that you can build and maintain effective working relationships with key people both internally and externally. Excellent communication skill is essential for this role as you will be liaising with multiple stakeholders across different levels. To succeed in the role, you require knowledge and experience of working within at least one relevant field (Highways Design/Maintenance, Traffic Management, Road Safety or Parking). Your application will not be considered if you do not have one of the following: ONC/BTEC in civil engineering / highways / transport / environment or related discipline. OR Student or Graduate Engineer Membership of (or working towards) a professional body and 2 years’ experience. OR Equivalent knowledge and experience of working within at least one relevant field (Highways Design/Maintenance, Traffic Management, Road Safety or Parking).
