Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are looking for an experienced CNC - Laser Programmer/Operator for a leading Manufacturing Client in the Bridgend area.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented 3 D Laser Programmer/Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up and operating 3D laser cutting machines to manufacture precision components. This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem solving abilities and experience with CNC programming and laser cutting technology.
Key Responsibilities
* Program and operate 3D laser cutting machines to cut and shape various materials according to specifications.
* Develop and optimize CNC programs for laser cutting operations.
* Interpret and analyse blueprint’s, CAD drawings and technical specifications to determine machine settings.
* Perform machine setup, calibration and maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
* Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to laser programming and machine operation.
* Collaborate with engineers, designers and production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.
* Document machine performance, maintenance schedules and quality control reports.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in 3D laser programming and operation (Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic, or similar brands preferred).
* Proficiency in CNC programming software (such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Lantek, SigmaNEST or other CAD/CAM software).
* Strong understanding of metals and materials processing.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T and technical drawings.
* Experience with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges etc).
* Knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
* Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet production deadlines.
Education and Experience
* Certification in CNC programming, machining, or a related field preferred.
* 2+ years of experience operating and programming 3D laser cutting machines.
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment is a plus.
The hours of work are Monday to Friday/7am to 3.30pm.
The starting salary is £13.00 an hour.
