Job overview
In BSW we strive to use information to improve decision-making at every level. This role will lead the provision of expert high quality insights and intelligence to underpin system development, and the ICBs role in system oversight and assurance. It will work in a matrix style across the organisation to understand performance implications of service development and provide added value insights to key BSW boards.
The post-holder will produce analysis and reports that demonstrate clearly and concisely the answers, findings and position of the organisation using appropriate and effective data visualisation; complemented with insightful commentary, which is then useful and progressive for the organisations business. This will require attention to detail, strong relationships with colleagues and curiosity to understand the problem, with a developing knowledge of the subject to respond in context and fulfil the information need.
The post holder will be a champion for a performance driven culture across the ICB and wider system and support in ensuring that corporate and system intelligence is in place and is readily available to enable proactive and effective management of performance at all levels. They will undertake a leading role in the development of the system framework for monitoring BSW delivery plans. They will work closely with stakeholders in providing their expertise to develop key indicators and system reporting- aligned to governance arrangements.
Main duties of the job
This is an agile role, predominantly working from home with occasional office days.
1. The post holder will be required to communicate and provide highly complex information to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
2. Analyse, interpret and present data to highlight issues, risks and support decision making, to a wide range of stakeholders in a formal setting.
3. Maintain close working relationships with colleagues across the directorate to help manage performance and gain supporting narrative and context to analysis.
4. Set, monitor and manage the teams quality standards, ensuring the production of timely and accurate information analysis and reports.
5. Produce and lead on the effective communication of a meaningful picture of the organisation’s performance position using a wide variety of data and intelligence, including though attendance at relevant meetings.
6. Manage adhoc resource and analysis and provide expertise to support stakeholders, understanding the desired outcome and being proactive in seeking opportunities to use data and analysis to support. Ensuring there is effective management of potentially conflicting priorities.

Knowledge, Training and Experience
* Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area
* Extensive knowledge of specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master’s level equivalent
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
* Expert knowledge of the NHS Data definitions
* Expert knowledge of Excel, intermediate knowledge of SQL
