Join Our Team as an Operational Procurement Specialist!
Are you enthusiastic about procurement and eager to make an impact on a global scale? We are looking for a new Operational Procurement Specialist to join our Global Vendor Purchasing team. In this role, you will support procurement activities to fulfill customer orders through the Metso Services Organization. You will apply a wide range of procurement principles and collaborate with various teams across the organization.
This position is mainly located in York, PA. We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options; however, this position may involve up to 10% of domestic travel for training/meetings.
What you'll do:
* Responsible for the total management of purchase orders, including problem resolution, expediting, shipping handoff and invoicing.
* Responsible for ensuring receipt of purchase orders acknowledgments in a timely manner and in accordance with pricing and delivery conditions.
* Coordinate and participate in communications between vendors and internal stakeholders on the status of purchase orders as necessary to resolve procurement issues, both technical and systematic.
* Prioritization of requests in Salesforce which may require PO cancellations, improvements and quality concerns.
* Adherence to the Global Procurement Policies, procedures and guidelines, legal requirements, regulations and standards and appropriate ethical standards.
* Collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure accurate understanding of customer requirements and expectations.
* Assist Senior Global Vendor Purchaser with various functions related to operational standards and processes.
* Other duties, as assigned.
Who you are:
* Degree in a related field is desirable. Alternatively, 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, ideally within a multi-national environment, will also be considered.
* Ability to prioritize various tasks, work in a time-sensitive setting in a busy environment.
* Ability to prioritize execution of procurement transactions.
* Ability to monitor supplier performances, including on-time delivery and the ability to provide improved supplier communications.
* Having a general financial awareness, in relation to pricing, total cost of ownership, shipping.
* Understanding of global taxation and incoterms.
* Takes initiative and works autonomously.
* A resourceful mindset when troubleshooting bottlenecks and utilizing internal networks.
* Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management on a regular basis.
* Working knowledge of Purchasing and Logistics environments.
* Basic interpretation of drawings preferred.
* SAP (or other ERP application) knowledge is a valuable asset.
