We are excited to offer a Network and Customer Service Technician position based in Redruth. This is a 37-hour per week, full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary of £26,926 - £29,268 per annum (DOE). The role includes a progression scheme supporting advancement up to £33,950 per annum, with overtime, a company van, and rewards.
About the role: As a Water Network and Customer Service Technician, you'll deliver high-quality service through network operation and maintenance. Your hands-on approach will resolve customer contacts promptly and support repair and maintenance activities to ensure safety, cost-effectiveness, and innovation. Collaboration with the wider Drinking Water Services team is essential to maintain and record the water supply network. Flexibility for rota standby and other working arrangements is required.
Progression Scheme: Our employment package includes a tailored progression scheme with qualifications, skills, and experiences designed to help you attain a Level 3 Diploma in Water Operations or Management. The company covers training costs of £7,280 for industry-recognized qualifications, supporting further growth within the water industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain excellent relations with customers, regulatory bodies, and colleagues, managing customer queries and complaints to resolution.
2. Perform maintenance and repairs on network assets to prevent supply interruptions and water quality issues, recording all actions appropriately.
3. Work diligently to prevent Supply Interruption events, and when they occur, implement mitigations, safe zoning, and deploy alternative water supply technologies, ensuring proper event recording.
4. Operate the network to ensure safe water provision in compliance with quality regulations, maintaining customer confidence.
5. Collaborate with teams, partners, and contractors for planned and reactive maintenance, including various operational activities like cyclic maintenance, leak detection, and repairs.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
* Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A-C, including Maths, English, and Science.
* Experience in standby rotations and responding to urgent operational issues.
* Proficiency in MS Office, GIS, work management, and data logging systems.
* Full clean UK Driver’s License.
Desirable:
* ONC / City and Guilds / NVQ in water networks or related discipline.
* Streetworks qualification, including NRSWA units 2 & 10.
* Experience in water distribution activities.
* Technical knowledge of hydraulic water systems or similar experience.
