Job summary We are offering a new and exciting opportunity for the position of a Band 5 Continence Staff Nurse to work at Level 1 within the Specialist Continence Advisory Service. You will need to have a keen interest & experience of working with community adults with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction. The Specialist Continence Advisory Service delivers high quality specialist multi-disciplinary assessments and treatment therapy with the aim of optimising patients' levels of continence, independence and self-care. Main duties of the job As a Band 5 Continence Staff Nurse you will work closely within the Specialist team with the Band 6 Continence Nurse Advisers, other specialist nurses, GP's & team members of the integrated community teams and dedicated primary care colleagues primarily in community settings. You will liaise closely with other health and social care professionals as well as patients, family and carers therefore excellent communication skills are essential. You will have responsibility for the caseload management of individuals referred into the service for Level 1 assessments and will deliver appropriate treatment therapy interventions to achieve agreed realistic goals and ensure safe and timely discharge from the service. You will be actively encouraged to participate in CPD and to actively participate in teaching/training of colleagues and students along with the Specialist Nurses to ensure that the service delivers high quality interventions based on best practice evidence.
