The Receipt and Distribution Supervisor will ensure that the Receipt and Distribution team carry out their duties following departmental and Trust policies.
These duties will include supervision of staff and managing annual leave and sickness. The post holder will communicate with all users of the services on a regular basis to ensure the service specifications are being delivered to agreed standards.
Maintain effective and efficient records of all Receipt and Distribution, observing varying trends and evidencing them to the Supplies Team Leader.
Communicate daily with all users regarding any variation in services that may be required. Using judgement to rearrange priorities when necessary and in consultation with the Supplies Team Leader; implementing contingency plans as appropriate.
Understand and adhere to procedures for dealing with complaints and ensure they are dealt with promptly and sympathetically.
Attend daily briefing meetings with the Supplies Team, and liaise with other staff. Ensuring time-keeping records are accurately maintained and any variances reported to the Supplies Team Leader. This includes accurate reporting of sickness, return to work discussions, appraisals, arranging special leave in consultation with the Supplies Team Leader.
Monitor the correct controls and uses of equipment and materials used in the department and escalate any concerns.
Ensure all staff attend statutory and mandatory training as required and be willing to attend courses to improve supervisory management skills, skills associated with all aspects of the job including health and safety at work and risk assessments.
The role involves a significant amount of walking, manual handling, unloading, and unpacking goods from cages from time to time.
