JOB PURPOSE
An exciting position has become available within Technical Services team for a LPG Mechanical Engineer.
Reporting into the Mechanical Engineering Support Manager and Lead Mechanical Engineers the LPG mechanical engineer will mostly work alongside other experienced engineers to undertake the technical installations and inspections of large LPG vessels, A/G & U/G, laying U/G distribution pipe work using various methods of jointing, installing & connecting all types of Pipework and Equipment, carry out the required testing, purging, and commissioning & issuing of certification.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
This job description is for guidance purposes and the role holder will be expected to do any other tasks as is reasonably expected of them
Key Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Carryout routine maintenance and inspection work at Flogas storage depots and on industrial customer LPG plants
• Carryout on site installations of pipework, pumps, vaporisers, and auxiliary equipment
• Assist with prefabrication work and vaporiser assembly at Knowsley.
• Installation and Commissioning:
Carry out the installation, of pipework, pumps, vapourisors and other auxiliary equipment ensuring they meet the design and current specifications and operate efficiently.
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve issues to minimise downtime and maintain operational reliability on both our Network sites and that of our customers
• Service Visits/Preventive Maintenance
Attending customer and depot sites for annual inspections of pump systems, highlighting and repairing any issues, to ensure we minimise downtime, and build on customer relations.
• Breakdown Support:
Supporting our customer sites with breakdown support, either remotely or by attending site to assist with issues.
• Departmental Support:
Assist the mechanical engineering team with ongoing customer installations, and depot work when required and available to do so.
JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS
• Full valid UK Driving License.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites, and depots as required with the expectation of some nights away.
• Ability to work at remote sites either alone, or as part of a larger team.
• Willingness to carry out duties additional to those mentioned, and flexibility to adapt to unexpected changes.
• A positive attitude with the ability to think on your feet.
• Capable of effectively managing multiple tasks and service requests, prioritising work, and ensuing deadlines are met.
• Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to learn.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS
• LPG experience able to demonstrate ability to work hands on
• Previous experience is essential with required LPG/ACS qualification. (EP-EPC)
• Hard working and physically fit
• Ability to meet agreed deadlines and work overtime as required.
• Self-motivating and resourceful to overcome problems as they arise.
• Good communication & influencing skills.
• A knowledge of LPG in both liquid and vapour phase and safe working practices
• Ability to read and understand both GA and Isometric plant layout drawings.
• A working knowledge of pipework assembly including flanged and screwed joints.
• Full UK driving license (Light vehicle up to 3.5 tonne)
• Basic IT skills, emails, attachments etc
• Experience of pneumatics and pumped liquid systems would also be advantageous
