On behalf of our client, a leading aerospace manufacturing company, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join their team in Congleton. Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain & Procurement, this role is responsible for managing the Procurement team, ensuring best practices are implemented, and serving as the senior escalation point for procurement activities. With a focus on sourcing strategy, supplier management, and operational efficiency, the Procurement Manager will drive continuous improvement across procurement and planning functions to support business objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Procurement team, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices. Develop and execute sourcing strategies and procurement projects, including work transfers, New Product Introduction (NPI), and new work bid activity. Manage supplier relationships and ensure on-time, in-full (OTIF) deliveries to the business. Oversee and execute monthly Operations Supply Planning activities, weekly Master Production Schedule (MPS) tasks, and daily Shop Floor Scheduling. Facilitate decision-making processes to balance supply and demand, integrating plans into site financial and operational objectives. Ensure compliance with standard procurement and planning tools, processes, and performance metrics. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Master Schedule Adherence, Customer Past Dues, and Days Inventory Outstanding. Lead supplier rate readiness reviews and load/capacity activities for procurement projects. Develop sourcing strategies in collaboration with Programme teams to support business growth. Identify and implement procurement cost-saving initiatives in alignment with business expectations. Skills & Experience Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably within aerospace manufacturing or transferable sectors. Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management, and procurement best practices. Experience in demand planning, supply chain optimisation, and operational supply planning. Ability to analyse data, develop strategies, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing. Experience with MPS, shop floor scheduling, and supplier performance management. Strong understanding of procurement cost control and strategic sourcing methodologies. Professional certification (CIPS, APICS) is advantageous.
