Job Overview
Our operating theatres are recruiting for full/part-time Band 2 experienced perioperative care support workers. Join us in delivering the highest standards of care in a well-equipped, safe environment with our ‘Right Care’ behaviors of compassion, commitment to quality care, and teamwork as a priority. Our specialties include Ophthalmology, General Surgery, ENT, Gynecology, Urology, Maxilla-facial, elective Orthopedics, Acutes & trauma, Obstetrics, and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit.
Main Duties of the Job
To undertake a range of duties including clerical and patient care activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Practitioner ODP, Nurse, or a Senior Perioperative Care Assistant. Theatre Support staff will assist the Registered Practitioners to deliver patient care and prepare the environment in which care is delivered.

Skills
* Good communication skills, including observation and listening.
* Ability to work as an active member of the multi-disciplinary team.
* Skills in Infection Prevention and Control.
* Skills in manual handling.
* Skills in safeguarding people.
Qualifications
* General education; Numerate & Literate to Functional skills Maths & English Level 2, GCSE A-C or equivalent.
* The Care Certificate.
* QCF Level 2 / 3 Health Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
* Previous experience in a team environment.
* Previous experience of working with the public.
* Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
Knowledge
* A basic understanding of working in the Operating Theatre.
* Understanding of the NHS Constitution and its implications.
* Knowledge of IT systems, Electronic patient records.
