Our client, a well-established organisation with a strong reputation for innovation in specialised manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer. This individual will be instrumental in developing new products and enhancing the company's current offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Designing and developing initial product concepts that align with market demands.
2. Supporting the entire product development process within the organisation.
3. Providing technical support for existing products, both internally and at customer locations.
4. Overseeing the completion of design work, including the creation of drawings and technical documentation.
5. Mentoring and fostering the growth of team members within the engineering department.
6. Collaborating with suppliers to identify cost-effective solutions that meet technical specifications.
7. Offering technical assistance across different areas of the business.
8. Participating in international travel as needed, including customer site visits and support for service teams.
9. Maintaining a professional standard by adhering to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering.
2. 15-20 years of experience in a mechanical design engineering role.
3. Proven track record of leading complex design projects from concept to completion.
4. Experience managing project teams and guiding them to successful outcomes.
5. Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
6. Expertise in the selection of servomotors, stepper motors, and gearboxes.
7. Proficiency in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or equivalent.
8. Full UK driving licence.
Other Requirements:
The position is primarily based in the UK, with the expectation of occasional international travel. Fluency in languages beyond English is considered advantageous, though not essential.

Remuneration and Benefits:
1. Salary: £55,000 per annum.
2. Pension Scheme: Automatic enrolment into the company’s workplace pension scheme, with a 3% company contribution.
3. Working Hours: Standard working hours are 7:40 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 7:40 a.m. to 1:40 p.m. on Friday. Flexibility is required as working hours may extend beyond these times, including weekends.
4. Holidays: 33 days of paid holiday per year, including public holidays. The company typically closes between Christmas and New Year, and employees are required to reserve holiday for this period.
5. Sick Pay: Paid at the standard rate, subject to management approval.
6. Other Benefits: Death in Service (DIS) and Permanent Health Insurance (PHI) schemes, with optional access to the company’s healthcare scheme.
