SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER – ENVIRONMENT
We have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
Ideally, you will be based in or around the Poole area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
You will work on our Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, which has experience in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominantly to the Water Industry, across both Treatment Waste and Water schemes, delivering both Design and Build.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage project delivery outputs including programme, financial position, health safety, environmental performance, and progress for all allocated schemes.
* Provide leadership, staff development, and retention of key personnel, including interviewing and recruitment.
* Interact professionally with senior client representatives.
* Understand NEC contract conditions and demonstrate commercial awareness.
* Manage multiple concurrent projects to ensure successful delivery against project KPIs and PIs.
* Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety regulations including CDM regulations and Environmental legislation.
* Review in-house/subcontractor RAMS and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality systems.
* Liaise with clients to meet or exceed KPIs within budget constraints.
* Manage the project team with clear objectives and roles.
* Assist the Regional Manager with resource utilization across projects.
* Assume responsibility for the financial performance of the portfolio of projects.
* Produce project performance reports and participate in monthly financial/programme reviews.
* Ensure compliance with all company commercial and financial procedures.
* Establish and agree price variations and final accounts.
* Prepare estimates and quotations and provide tender vetting.
* Develop a detailed project programme in conjunction with the project planner.
* Coordinate with other departments to ensure resources are allocated correctly.
* Develop new opportunities within the Framework and lead in pre-construction tenders.
* Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and construction teams.
* Ensure timely procurement of plant, materials, and subcontractors.
* Attend internal and external review and progress meetings.
* Ensure contract documentation is prepared according to client specifications.
About You:
* Industry applicable ONC/HNC or NVQ equivalent.
* IOSH or CITB Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS).
* CSCS card.
* Demonstrable experience working with NEC suite of contracts.
* Experience in the water and/or sewage industries.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
* Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
* Ability to prioritize workload and demonstrate good time management.
* Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face).
* Possess a “can do” attitude and support team members as needed.
* Ability to make decisions for project success.
