An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider in the UK. My client has a large portfolio of supported living projects and offers generic housing management and supported housing services.
Vacancy Brief:
* The role is that of a Support Worker – Ex offenders.
* This is a potential temp to perm job; full-time role, 35 hours per week.
* Role is in London but travel around surrounding areas will be required.
* The working hours will Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm.
* Pay rate for this job role is £15.80 per hour on PAYE OR £20.00 Umbrella.
* Mileage will be paid at 0.45p per mile for any work-related travel.
* Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is required.
* A current Enhanced DBS covering adult’s workforce will be required for this job role.
* Service User group is low to medium risk prison leavers over 18.
* Post holder will be looking after 1 property, 13 bed, supporting 5 – 6 clients on a weekly basis and a GPS tracked alert com will be provided.
The Responsibilities:
* As a Housing Support Worker, you will promote the benefits of gaining qualifications and skills and the extent to which this may assist service users in their training and search for employment.
* In your role as a Housing Support worker, you will develop a move-on plan with service users at the earliest opportunity, identifying realistic options for independent or more appropriate housing.
* Part of your role as a Support worker will be tasked with maximising any income collection required in respect of the service user, liaising with external agencies, and taking appropriate action as necessary.
* An important part of your role will be for you to carry out initial assessment of the potential or actual service user, including any risks, or his / her needs and requirements in respect of the service on offer.
* Furthermore, you work with colleagues and coordinate activity across the team and with other stakeholders, including attending meetings, to ensure the service is achieving its aims.
Skill Outcomes of this role:
This role provides an excellent springboard into other criminal justice professions including experience of working with a range of criminal justice agencies.
In addition, you will gain experience in liaising local authority Housing Benefit departments and the DWP to resolve financial issues.
