Job Title: Regulation 44 Visitor - Home Based
Location: Staffordshire and Travel to Lancashire
Contract: Full Time, initially for a four-year period
Salary: £30,000

Your Role:
As a Regulation 44 Visitor, you will conduct independent, unannounced, and announced monthly visits to our client’s children’s homes. Your comprehensive reports will be essential for submission to Ofsted, combining physical visits and online inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
* Impartial Assessments: Provide rigorous and impartial assessments of the homes' arrangements for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
* Quality Evaluation: Evaluate the quality of care by engaging with children and young people regarding their experiences.
* Recommendations: Offer recommendations to improve the effectiveness of the homes.
* Reporting: Produce detailed reports summarizing inspections and required improvements.
* Safeguarding Alerts: Immediately alert the Director of Care if any safeguarding concerns are identified.
Job Specification:
* Experience: Significant experience in the children’s care sector, either as a manager of a children’s home with a Level 5 diploma, social worker, or independent visitor.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Excellent understanding of the Children’s Home (England) Regulations 2015 and the social care common inspection framework.
* Quality Assurance: Demonstrated experience in quality assurance within children’s residential services, including file and paperwork audits.
* Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people and their networks.
* Report Writing: Proven ability in report writing.
* Service Improvement: Capability to provide actionable recommendations to improve services for the benefit of young people.
* Safeguarding & GDPR: Thorough understanding of safeguarding and GDPR practices.
* Travel: Ability to travel and undertake visits in the Midlands and North West areas.
* Flexible Hours: Availability to conduct visits during weekends and evenings to meet with the children when necessary.
