Salary: Band 3F, starting at £26,894 rising to circa £29,986 per annum on successful completion of apprenticeship, plus benefits
This is an exciting apprenticeship opportunity to join the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley Police as a Finance Officer. The OPCC office provides support in a number of areas including strategic financial policy and planning, audit, performance monitoring and scrutiny, governance and compliance, service commissioning, grant funding and partnerships, communications and engagement, press and media, the delivery of the Victims First Service and general administrative duties.
You will provide financial administrative support in the provision of accurate, timely management information and accounting information.
To develop you as an efficient and effective Finance Officer, you will undertake the AAT level 2 apprenticeship. You will receive structured off-the-job development, supported by workplace learning and mentoring.
As you develop your skills, your role will be to:
* Undertake monthly reconciliations
* Support month-end and year-end activities including postal journals
* Provide analysis and guidance to colleagues within the OPCC
* Deal with queries via a shared inbox
The successful applicant will be aged 18 or over and possess a good standard of education (a minimum of five GCSEs grade 9-4/A-C, including maths, or equivalent) to carry out the tasks of the post and fulfil training requirements. You will be required to communicate effectively and politely with a wide variety of people, with the ability to organise, plan, and prioritise workloads; able to work to deadlines.
The apprenticeship is aimed at those who are not experienced in the provision of Finance and/or have not achieved qualifications in this field.

The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
