The post is part of a service that works 5 days over 7 with a rota for weekend and public holiday cover. This post is 29.6 hours per week- Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours. This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a committed, forward thinking and experienced SLT, to take on the role of Clinical Specialist in Head and Neck Cancer within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Adult Acute service. This post is based in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and involves leading the Adult Acute Head and Neck cancer service, supporting and leading head and neck SLT staff across a number of hospital sites within the largest health board in Scotland. This post also includes responsibility for contributing to the operational management of the SLT team at QEUH, along with two other on-site, Clinical Specialists. In addition, this post offers the exciting opportunity, to contribute to SLT leadership initiatives as part of the wider SLT acute, senior management team The successful applicant will have extensive, in depth, knowledge and demonstrable clinical expertise, across the full range of head and neck cancer services, including laryngectomy care. This will include expert skills in complex case management, problem solving and a knowledge of assessment methods including video fluoroscopy in the HNC population. A commitment to embedding a culture of improvement and working collaboratively to achieve change, is essential to the role. We need someone who can lead by example, and inspire others to achieve their potential, whilst maintaining the forward direction of the service.
