First Military Recruitment is proudly working in partnership with a fantastic equipment manufacturer business who are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer on a permanent basis due to growth based in and around Kent.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. This is a Field based role (working from home) and will include visiting customer sites and providing excellent customer service to many varied clients.
2. Duties will include carrying out preventative maintenance, repairs, installation, calibration/verification of weighing equipment and other equipment within interesting and varied industries such as aggregates & minerals, cement & concrete products, agri-bulk, environmental services & food production.
3. The type of equipment can vary from small platform table top scales to large industrial hopper scales and weighbridges.
Skills and Qualifications:
4. Four years field service experience (a weighing background would be an advantage) in dealing with customers on customer’s sites daily.
5. Field Electrical/mechanical experience (qualifications preferred).
6. Good PC skills (Microsoft Office/Outlook) including the use of a laptop computer for fault diagnosis.
7. Good prompt communication skills – oral and written.
8. Self-management skills for tools and van stocking.
9. A valid UK driving license.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
10. Experience of repair and calibration of weighing equipment by weight mass/flowmeter/force calibration
11. Ability to understand electrical drawings
12. Understanding/problem solving of networking (Ethernet/RS485 etc)
About You:
13. You should be comfortable working within a variety of customer premises, from quarries, docks, ready mix concrete plant recycling plants, transfer stations and factories (both inside and outside customer premises).
14. The role is home based, and as a result of this your location can be flexible (within assigned region) however, you may be required to work within other designated areas within the UK for short periods (overnight for example)
15. You must support health & safety, quality standards and good engineering processes & practices.
16. You should be able to handle any challenging situations with customers in a positive, professional and courteous manner at all times.
17. You will have the ability to work independently or in a team (as/when required).
18. Good attention to detail and enjoy problem solving with positive and optimistic “can do” attitude.
MB375: Field Service Engineer
Location: Kent and surrounding areas
Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 DOE + Overtime OTE £31,000 – £36,000
Working Hours: 39-hour week + weekday and weekend overtime rates
