Role Purpose:
Are you a proactive and driven project management professional? We’re looking for a talented individual to join our dynamic team, tackling a variety of highways and technology projects. You will have the chance to lead lower-risk projects independently or contribute to more complex initiatives, overseeing all stages from feasibility to completion.
Our project portfolio is diverse, with budgets ranging from £100k to £3m+. The work spans safety enhancements, environmental upgrades, state-of-the-art technology implementations, remedial work, and junction improvements. As a key player, you’ll collaborate closely with internal teams such as the Design Team, Asset Team, senior leadership, the Portfolio Management Office, and our commercial and finance teams. You will also engage with external stakeholders including Connect Plus, National Highways, the supply chain, local authorities, road users, and statutory bodies.

Responsibilities:
1. Supports strong collaborative relationships with the Portfolio Manager, and key internal and external stakeholders, to ensure full mutual understanding of the projects’ delivery objectives, to report on and review project performance, and to agree solutions to issues.
2. Supports compliance with the DBFO contract clarifying roles and responsibilities within your team, resolving risks and issues in a timely manner, producing timely and accurate reports, and creating and maintaining specified records including change management.
3. Support the Design, agree and implement project plans, to ensure that all activities are appropriately organised to deliver project objectives, are appropriately resourced to deliver the required outcomes.
4. Support projects throughout their whole lifecycle through feasibility, design, and construction informing investment proposals for our clients
5. Support the development of robust cost profiles identifying key risks and quantifying resource requirement.
6. Identify and evaluate emerging risks, issues, dependencies and constraints associated with the project, escalating where appropriate. Where necessary develop, agree and implement solutions to overcome these.
7. Support the performance of Framework Contractors and Designers as appropriate, ensuring that project objectives and requirements are clearly understood, setting clear expectations for health and safety management, time and cost; and taking appropriate remedial action where necessary.
8. Support the delivery of the business’ sustainability activities including net zero and biodiversity net gain
9. Work closely with the Construction/Supervisor team to ensure permits, certificates and site reporting are managed correctly and align to project needs

Location:
This is a hybrid role designed to fully maximize team collaboration on the project, we therefore expect a minimum of 60% of your time to be spent at a CPS offices.
