Job Description
Renewable Energy Project Engineer
Leap29 are representing a client who is a leading independent renewable energy company that operates and constructs over 1.7 GW of assets and is developing a portfolio of more than 30 GW.
Leap29 is searching for 2 positions, a Senior Engineer and Engineer, with expertise in the following core areas:
1. Electrical Design
2. Proficiency in solar PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase)
3. Project optimisation
4. 1%-2% soil in factor
5. Electrical Calculations
6. Tenders and Bids
7. Pre-Construction phase
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop technical designs from concept to detailed stages using industry-standard software, ensuring alignment with project development phases.
2. Optimize layouts and maximize energy yields through constraint analysis.
3. Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices, integrating cross-functional feedback.
4. Assist in preparing documentation for both pre- and post-construction phases.
5. Lead or support technical due diligence, coordinating with Lenders’ Technical Advisors (LTAs).
6. Serve as the technical lead for tender and RFQ (Request for Quotation) processes, from preparation to evaluation.
7. Define and review contract technical requirements (e.g., PAC process), monitor compliance, and resolve technical issues.
8. Conduct on-site verification of installations and testing, ensuring adherence to design, internal procedures, and industry regulations.
9. Oversee grid connection approvals and compliance.
10. Provide technical support for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), including inspections and witnessing tests.
11. Manage and assess pre-construction technical surveys.
12. Build and maintain strong relationships with Owners' Engineers and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs).
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related field).
2. Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering utility-scale solar power projects.
3. Proficiency in solar PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase).
4. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system optimization skills.
