Description ABOUT YOU As Equipment Technician, you will ideally be an individual from a scientific/laboratory-based background who has had experience working with or maintaining laboratory equipment Required skills and experience: Some relevant laboratory experience. Experience working with and/or maintaining laboratory equipment. Degree in a science related field is preferred. Flexible and responsive to support routine and non-routine requests as part of a team. Motivated to learn and develop their skills. Good IT literacy skills Clear written and verbal communications skills with the ability to build relationships with their team, internal customers and external suppliers. Experience working in a GMP environment would be of benefit but is not essential. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY As Equipment Technician, you will work as part of the Equipment Team within our current Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) laboratories. The role will be to assist the Equipment Team in maintenance and qualification of laboratory equipment to support Operations. Key activities: In consultation with their supervisor, plan and organise work on a day-to-day basis. Carry out and/or schedule planned servicing, qualification and calibration activities so they are performed in a timely fashion in-line with equipment maintenance schedules. Carry out reactive repairs and qualification to lab equipment raised through the Equipment Helpdesk. Resolve issues in a timely fashion to ensure equipment downtime is minimised. Develop technical knowledge on a broad range of equipment. Support in the identification of new equipment in conjunction with The Equipment Team, Line Management and Operations Staff. Support in projects relating to relocation of existing equipment and procurement of new equipment. Ensure all paperwork relating to equipment activities is completed accurately and promptly for lab and quality review. Liaise with external suppliers to arrange for equipment to be dispatched offsite for inspection and maintenance. Review remote monitoring data for temperature-controlled equipment and environments to monitor equipment performance, help identify issues/trends and document temperature excursions. Respond to Helpdesk tickets in a timely fashion, ensuring regular communication is maintained with operations. All tasks will be performed in accordance with Intertek Melbourn procedures and the principles of GMP.
