The Business & Opportunity:
A well respected, growing and reputable Leeds based accountancy practice is looking for a personal tax expert to provide an excellent service to their client base. This consists predominantly of small businesses across a wide range of sectors.
Whilst this is initially maternity leave contract for a 9-12 Month period, there is a chance this timeframe could be extended.
Requirement:
Reporting to the Practice Partner, you will take responsibility for all personal tax related matters. These will include:
* Preparing and filing tax returns.
* Payments-on-account.
* P11Ds.
* Simple trust returns and R40s.
* Tax-coding notice reviews.
* Liaison with HMRC and clients.
Ideal Skills & Experience:
1. An accountancy or tax qualification is by no means a pre-requisite, hence qualified by experience candidates are very welcome to apply.
2. You must possess experience in a similar role, having previously carried out January tax deadlines.
3. Worked within a small-medium sized accountancy practice.
4. A thorough understanding of HMRC deadlines, penalty regimes and general compliance.
5. A general working knowledge of personal taxation, capital gains tax and some basic experience in trusts.
