About the team
We are looking for an experienced and motivated press office manager to join our Communications team at Ofqual – the regulator for qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.
The successful candidate will be part of a friendly, supportive corporate communications team of 15, with two direct reports.
This role is a 12-month fixed term contract to attract potential candidates who are looking for short term challenges.
What will the post holder be doing?
The Chief Media Officer is responsible for leading the tactical delivery of our media relations activity.
You will have a proven track record of managing press and media relations and a press office function at high-profile organisations.
Adept at turning complex information into nuanced, concise copy, you will have a strong news sense and be able to manage and prioritise competing demands and stakeholders.
You will have experience in delivering multi-channel communications designed to inform and engage audiences, preferably in the education sector.
Educated to degree level or with significant industry experience, this is a role for an excellent communicator who is proactive, resilient and calm under pressure.
We operate a discretionary hybrid working policy and will accept candidates who could work from our hub in London or head office in Coventry.
