Job summary Job overview The Nottingham University Hospitals Cardiac Intensive Care Unit is situated within The Trent Cardiac Centre at City Campus; 16 beds providing level 2 and level 3 care to patients following cardiac surgery. The Units have a progressive approach and are supported by Band 7s, and a Matron for CICU. There are a wide array of career pathways to take and opportunities to develop additional skills. New staff will be allocated a mentors and will have a period of supernumerary time and an abundance of teaching and support. In addition to the below summary you need to familiarise yourself with full job description and person specification documents attached to the advert Main duties of the job You will be responsible for providing care to patients post cardiac surgery who are mechanically ventilated and sedated, having invasive lines, chest drains and inotropic therapy. Some patients also require additional support such as intra-aortic balloon therapy and/or hemofiltration. You will be responsible for planning and prioritising the care in a timely manner.
