Estates Planning ManagerSalary £60k-£65kCar allowance or company carMonday to Friday 9am-5pm25 days plus bank holidaysPrivate medical insuranceCompetitive pension contributionEast GrinsteadLloyd Recruitment Service is pleased to be working with a large organisation in search of a Estates Planning Manager to join their team on a full time permanent basis.Purpose of the Job:To advise the Head of Estates and the wider Estates Team on all planning-related matters concerning the portfolio of sites across the United Kingdom. This role will support the Department's strategy, aligning with the overall long-term business strategy by developing and improving the Estate's portfolio through securing planning consents.Estates Planning Manager Key Tasks/Accountabilities:Possess a strong working knowledge of the Town and Country Planning systemProvide strategic planning advice to internal stakeholders on development and redevelopment opportunities, changes of use, and alternative use optionsPrepare pre-application consultation briefs for Local Planning AuthoritiesAttend pre-application consultation meetings with planning officers and internal colleaguesAttend site and review meetingsPrepare and submit planning appraisals, statements, and applications for site developments, changes of use, and Certificates of Lawfulness, working closely with Development ManagersSelect, instruct, and manage external professional advisers, including planning, heritage, ecology, highways, flood risk, and other specialist consultants on a project-by-project basisPrepare objections to proposals for neighbouring properties that negatively impact the sitesAttend Planning Committee meetings occasionallyManage day-to-day planning projects, liaising with in-house teams, external disciplines, and LPAs to ensure swift, positive outcomesEssential Skills & Experience Required:An accredited degree in Town Planning or a similar disciplineMember of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) with a minimum of four years' post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally in a planning advisory role (whether in-house, Local Planning Authority (LPA), or consultancy)Proven experience in preparing and successfully securing planning consents for significant development schemesStrong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain strong, sustainable relationships both internally and externally, demonstrating a positive and approachable dispositionStrong financial and commercial awarenessGood analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp new conceptsExcellent report writing skillsWell-developed IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Sheets, and SlidesFlexi-working arrangements available, including a combination of working from the office, from home, and on-site for visitsA valid car driver's license, with the ability to travel across the UK and stay overnight as requiredRefer a friend and you will receive a retail voucher of your choice up to the value of £500.
