About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Executive - Sponsorship Sales to join the Climate Action team and work on our highly regarded sustainable innovation and investment conference portfolio. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for our products, have a track record of success in sales, and possess an interest in sustainability or climate change.
We require an individual with a minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in a telephone sales role where they have achieved and exceeded targets. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of experience working in B2B event sales, ideally within the climate change, sustainability, or renewable energy space, selling high-value event sponsorship.
The successful applicant will be an adaptable team player who can learn quickly and has prior training in a consultative sales process. They will demonstrate a keen interest in shaping a climate and nature-positive future, with background knowledge of sustainable business practices, ESG, energy, and financial markets.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Understand clients' needs and match them with our solutions.
* Secure new clients based on their alignment with our events to maximize revenue and value for both parties.
* Manage and nurture existing relationships.
* Re-engage past clients.
* Achieve and exceed monthly sales targets.
* Achieve and exceed daily KPIs.
* Manage a sales pipeline document and CRM system for reporting purposes.
* Forecast business accurately on a weekly and monthly basis.
* Gather product and company feedback from clients and prospects.
* Rebook clients on-site at events, following our rebook process.
* Travel to events to manage sponsor relationships and help deliver high-quality, impactful events.
The Successful Applicant Will Have:
* 1-2 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally in B2B events, climate tech, or carbon credit sales.
* Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding sales targets, showcasing the potential to drive revenue and secure high-value sponsorships.
* A solid and proven track record in selling high-value partnerships or products to blue-chip brands.
* Ability to sell conceptually and credibly with a consultative and research-based sales approach.
* Enjoy being challenged and engaged in a KPI-driven environment where a percentage of your total earnings are performance-based.
* Experience using CRM systems and an appreciation of their importance.
* A genuine interest in working in a mission-focused, for-profit business addressing the greatest challenge of our time – Climate Change.
* A background knowledge of sustainable business practices, ESG, energy, and financial markets.
