Position Summary:
Rolling stock refurbishment and repurposing, corrosion and structural body repairs
Ongoing work within rail/rolling stock engineering sector
Responsibilities:
1. Inspection, replacement and repair of corroded sections of rolling stock
2. Stripping damaged sections, window cut outs and whole floor replacement
3. Solid wire MIG work working with predominantly mild steel from 2-10mm - with MPI tested welds
4. Welding new sections and infill pieces, variety of positions, including vertical and overhead required
5. Experience with fabrication, use of grinders and plasma required
6. Ability to work from verbal instruction and engineering drawings
Requirements:
1. All candidates will be required to successfully complete T fillet test pieces in Vertical Up and Overhead on 2mm and 5mm
2. Relevant City and Guilds / NVQ - Level 2 Required
3. Experience of Position Welding, ideally evidenced through codings held.
4. Own PPE Expected as undertaking Contract Role
