Job summary Tyneside Surgical Services, an independent provider of NHS care is looking for enthusiastic and motivated individual/s to join our busy administration team. Applications are welcome from suitably experienced administrators/ medical secretaries with MRI setting experience and willing to work as part of a team delivering surgical & diagnostic services. This role is full time but we would also consider part time and job share. The successful candidate will provide administrative support service to our MRI facility. The post holder must be able to use own initiative, work under pressure, keep to strict deadlines and have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of IT packages and their applications are essential. Previous experience of working within the healthcare environment & MRI would be advantageous but not necessary. This is a fast paced environment and attention to detail is essential. Main duties of the job Co-ordinate the availability and the provision of consultants and clinical support staff to facilitate care delivery for outpatient and operative care. Communicate with clinical staff and hospital operation staff to coordinate the patient journey from first referral to discharge. Support the process when required in relation to the investigation and clinical incidents, and complaints in accordance with policies. Develop and maintain effective channels of communication with colleagues, Consultants, Nurse Practitioners, administrators, and the senior management team. Ensure timely, accurate and clear communication is delivered to patients in regards to their pathway of care. Manage the patient process from commencement to final appointment in line with patient pathways to meet diagnostic and waiting time targets. This varied and interesting role is pivotal to support all aspects of the patients pathway and does include audio typing of key patient correspondence. This may include providing administration support to the nursing team. You must be flexible in your approach and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
