Job Purpose The Accounts Assistant will play a key role in supporting the finance team by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, maintaining well-organised financial records, and assisting with essential accounting tasks such as reconciliations, invoicing, and credit control. This role is crucial in helping the company maintain strong financial controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with suppliers, customers, and internal teams to resolve financial queries and ensure smooth day-to-day operations Key Responsibilities Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices and payments are handled efficiently Reconcile bank statements, supplier statements, and company accounts. Prepare and process invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims. Assist with credit control, including chasing overdue payments and maintaining debtor records. Support month-end reporting, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation. Handle queries from suppliers, clients, and internal teams regarding financial transactions. Provide general administrative support to the business as needed. Essential Skills, Experience and qualifications Min. AAT Level 2 or equivalent Previous experience in accounts, bookkeeping or a similar accounts assistant role. Knowledge of accountancy software and Microsoft excel Excellent numerical skills and keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong communication and organisational skills A proactive and problem-solving approach.
