We are seeking a Mechanical Biased Site Technician to oversee production operations and ensure that performance criteria are met across all key areas, including productivity, quality, safety, and sustainability within our state-of-the-art clean room facility in Runcorn. You will be responsible for the overall production process, from planning through execution, ensuring smooth operations while driving continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a focus on fostering a culture of excellence.
As a Site Technician, you will take full ownership of the production process, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring that the team meets operational KPIs (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Health, Environment, Cost, Delivery)
You’ll collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, Ecommerce, and production teams to deliver the highest standards of product quality and performance
Production :Manage the production process from planning to execution, ensuring targets are met for productivity, quality, and safety
Technical Expertise: Operate, maintain, and improve production equipment while ensuring optimal functionality. Diagnose and troubleshoot any technical issues to minimize downtime
Process Optimization: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying techniques such as Cost Deployment and Zero Loss to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Safety & Environmental Compliance: Ensure all health, safety, and environmental protocols are strictly followed to maintain a safe working environment and sustainable operations
Quality Control: Uphold stringent quality standards across all production lines, ensuring compliance with internal and external quality procedures
Team Leadership: Build and lead a highly effective team, promoting autonomous working practices. Lead by example, foster strong communication, and manage any team conflicts to achieve production goals
Coaching & Development: Mentor and coach team members, sharing expertise to drive skill development and team growth
Problem Solving: Use structured problem-solving methods to quickly address issues, ensuring they do not reoccur
Skills & Experience Required
A strong background in engineering, with experience in Maintenance, Bench Fitting, or Machining
Proven experience overseeing production in a manufacturing environment, ideally within Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG)
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and develop teams
Practical experience in project management, with familiarity with tools and techniques that enhance production performance
A growth mindset, focused on continuous improvement and the ability to embrace challenges
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing and eliminating production issues
