Scope As a Regional HR Business Partner, EMEA, you will be a member of the Human Capital Group (HCG"), reporting to the Global Head of Human Resources & Employment and will oversee the HR Business Partners within HCG supporting the UK and EMEA. You will serve as a strategic partner to our Corporate teams and lines of business, providing sensible HR guidance and support while ensuring compliance with the complex regulatory landscape, particularly in the UK. You will work in close coordination with the HCG Legal team (i.e., our in-house team of legal professionals specializing in employment law) on a variety of HR matters. This role requires a deep understanding of the financial services industry, specifically investment banking, the ability to keep abreast of employment law changes in each jurisdiction, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Responsibilities Build strong relationships with senior business leaders to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives. In close coordination with the HCG Legal team, manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and provide guidance on disciplinary actions and terminations. Lead the performance management process for Corporate staff in the UK and EMEA, including goal setting, performance reviews, and talent calibration. Ensure adherence to UK financial services regulations, including the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR), Conduct Rules, and FCA requirements. Ensure compliance with the annual Gender Pay Gap Reporting requirements for the UK. Act as the HCG representative in relevant Board, regulatory, or other governance meetings, as required, including preparation of meeting materials and talking points. Provide leadership and strategic support on various projects spanning across business units and jurisdictions, including, but not limited to developing and revising employee handbooks, policies, and procedures. Support the Company's international expansion through organic growth and acquisitions, which will involve conducting HR due diligence with respect to acquisitions affecting the UK and EMEA. Work closely with the Sr. Employment Counsel, EMEA & APAC to maintain appropriate risk oversight. Leverage HR data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive business performance. Provide mentorship and guidance to HCG team members, fostering a high-performance culture. Basic Qualifications Proven track record as a HR Business Partner within the financial services industry, preferably investment banking. In-depth knowledge of UK financial services regulations, particularly SM&CR and Conduct Rules. Strong business acumen and ability to build effective partnerships with senior stakeholders. Commercial mindset and the ability to manage firm risk with best-in-class Human Capital solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skill and ability to deliver difficult messages with confidence. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure with strong organizational skills.
