This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a team of practice educators to design and deliver education and training programmes across the Torbay and South Devon Integrated Care Organisation (ICO). The purpose of this role is pivotal in promoting high quality patient care through the continuing education and professional development of the workforce.
The role will oversee and promote a learning environment within the clinical teams, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based practice and promoting a learning culture that encapsulates the needs of our workforce together with developing and creating a shared integrated learning experience for the benefit of our patients and staff.
Applicants must hold an up-to-date professional registration and have extensive experience working in the clinical environment and supporting education and training.
Main duties of the job
* Lead the development of innovative education and training to meet the challenging demands of our clinical workforce, including developing simulation, transformation, QI, and digital education.
* Play a pivotal part in shaping our future learning environments and working with our clinical services in the support and quality of education provided to a range of clinical learners.
* Lead the design and delivery of specified education, including the implementation and extension of simulation, digital, QI, and transformation training programmes for the clinical workforce.
* Support learners in practice and develop positive learning environments and development opportunities.

Qualifications and training
* First level registered nurse, midwife or relevant professional registration or professional qualification at degree level or equivalent experience.
* Relevant teaching/training/instructing qualification.
* Master’s level qualification, working towards or proven ability to work at this level.
* Evidence of continued professional development within the area of education and leadership.
* Clinical experience at Band 6 or equivalent demonstrable healthcare experience at a senior level.
Knowledge and experience
* Highly developed teaching, communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
* Ability to manage projects over prolonged periods.
