Job title - Senior Manager SHES Location - Dalry Job model - On Site This role is based at the Dalry Site which is one of dsm-firmenich's leading Manufacturing sites, producing Vitamins C, B5 and Bovaer on a 24/7 basis. The top tier COMAH site has 500 FTE including contractors and significant construction project activities. The challenge is to lead the safety journey of this site in close collaboration with site operational leadership. The Senior Manager SHE is a key role within the Site Leadership Team. Your key responsibilities - Driving long-term continuous improvement of SHES in a pro-active manner and leading the SHES Culture journey on site with the ultimate ambition of zero injuries as a result of a solid behavioral safety program - Providing inspirational leadership, displaying strong external orientation towards key stakeholders and proactively engaging with people. - Leading the SHES Dept, a team of 10 SHE professionals. Optimally deploying staff to facilitate employee development and succession planning, ensuring the short-term and long-term availability of a competent workforce to meet the current and future requirements of the organization. - Leading management on SHES matters by advising on how to interpret dsm-firmenich policies & requirements, as well as national and international laws and regulations. - Leading internal and external working groups to improve SHES performance. Facilitating the exchange of experience and best practices. - Staying abreast of both internal and external developments with regards to laws and regulations and all other relevant compliance matters. - Encouraging employees to live dsm-firmenich values and HR policies, ensuring that employees are recruited, managed, coached, developed and willing to be held accountable. - Monitoring performance and progress regarding SHES compliance and continuous improvement and reporting regularly to site management. Developing and implementing SHES KPI leading indicators with site management. Leading SHES audits within the organization. - Preparing proposals for line management on the implementation of relevant dsm-firmenich policies, requirements and guidelines. Indicating priorities for future work, based on risk assessments and recent incidents. - Preparing annual SHES objectives and budget for approval by site management. - Investigating SHES incidents and advising on actions to prevent recurrence. - Keeping up-to-date records and files of all relevant compliance issues and maintaining valid certifications. - Co-ordinating emergency response/security operations on site and contingency planning for major incidents. Advising on SHES training programs and initiatives. - Contributing to the improvement of the overall performance of the site by proactively participating in Site Leadership Team meetings and initiatives. You bring - The successful candidate will ideally have a degree in Chemistry or Engineering and have relevant qualifications in the field of HSE, - Significant people management experience gained in an operational environment. - Excellent communication skills. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work well under pressure. - Candidates must have a proven track record of leadership and project management. - High levels of self-motivation. - Strong influencing skills. - Risk awareness. - Attention to detail.
