A respected Catholic School in Hillingdon is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher for a one-year fixed-term contract. About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging Food Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, covering a wide range of topics, including advanced culinary techniques, food science, nutrition, food sustainability, and cultural food studies. Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate practical cooking activities, food analysis, sensory evaluation, and research projects, encouraging students to explore the diverse world of food and its impact on society. Assess student progress through practical assessments, written evaluations, food projects, and presentations, providing timely, constructive, and detailed feedback to support their learning and development. Organize and facilitate food-related workshops, cooking competitions, and visits to food production facilities and culinary events, enriching students’ understanding of the food industry and promoting their culinary skills. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Food Technology or a closely related field, demonstrating strong culinary skills and a deep understanding of food science, nutrition, and food sustainability. Extensive experience teaching Food Technology at the secondary level, with a proven track record of student success and a commitment to high standards of culinary education. Proficiency in a wide range of culinary techniques, food preparation methods, and food safety practices. Excellent communication, organizational, and practical skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students from diverse backgrounds. A passion for food education and ethical food practices, with a commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
