Purpose of the role During the four-year apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering Maintenance, I will be actively engaged in a comprehensive training program. This will involve attending college on a day release schedule while working closely with the experienced Heidelberg Materials Aggregates Maintenance Engineering Team. The primary responsibilities will revolve around ensuring the smooth operation of the plant, equipment, and systems in accordance with a preventative maintenance schedule. This entails regularly monitoring and maintaining these crucial elements to prevent any potential issues. In addition to routine maintenance tasks, I will be prepared to respond swiftly to emergency breakdowns of plant and equipment. The goal will be to ensure the reliability of all equipment, so it consistently performs within specified operating environments. This may involve implementing modifications in the manufacturing process, which could encompass manufacturing and fitting new parts or modifying existing components as necessary. The apprenticeship will equip me with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the field of Electrical Engineering Maintenance, making me a valuable asset to the team at Heidelberg Materials Aggregates. Key Accountability Work in a safe manner following all Health and Safety regulations. Following all IMS procedures relating to his/her own work activities. Liaising with Managers/Team Leaders and other departments as required. To work as an integral part of the Engineering Team to ensure that work is carried out as efficiently as possible. To attend training courses as and when required. I.e. renewal of licences and updating of knowledge. Ability to work as part of a team. Computer literate i.e. internet and intranet, all Microsoft packages. Flexible and committed approach to all tasks.
