Senior / Specialist Occupational Therapist - Outpatients

We’re looking for a Senior Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy team at The Portland Hospital, currently rated “Good” by the CQC and home to the largest private hospital-based rehabilitation centre in the UK.
Internationally renowned for clinical excellence, The Portland Hospital is the only independent hospital in the UK entirely dedicated to women and children. Our inpatient and outpatient specialties reflect this, providing clinical expertise in Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Women`s Health.
Our Paediatric wards hold 56 inpatient beds + 11 day case and are equipped with the latest technology to provide advanced medical and surgical care, including a Paediatric Neurorehabilitation Unit and a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit which reflects the acuity and complex nature of the children who are admitted to our hospital
The role of this Specialist Occupational Therapist post will primarily involve the assessment and treatment of your own clinical caseload of Outpatients covering a wide variety of diagnoses including but not restricted to; cerebral palsy, autism, developmental delays, congenital and genetic differences as well as wheelchair and equipment assessments and prescriptions. Although this role is predominantly outpatient based, there will be an expectation that the candidate will assist with the management of the inpatient caseload as and when needed.

What you’ll bring:
1. BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent).
2. Current registered member of Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
3. Minimum 2 years experience in Paediatrics in a clinical setting, such as an outpatient clinic or hospital. Previous hospital and acute experience or exposure is beneficial.
4. Knowledge and application of paediatric OT assessments and interventions relevant to a paediatric client group.
5. Experience working with an outpatient caseload with varying knowledge and experience with different conditions and diagnoses.
