Business Analyst – Risk/Data Governance
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Analyst to join our Risk Function. The Business Analyst will be responsible for analysing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and developing strategies to enhance efficiency and productivity of the wider Risk Function through the adoption of automation and other advanced tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of business operations, risk management processes and IT systems.
Main duties
* Identify opportunities to streamline processes within the Risk function.
* Identify risks and assess controls in data related reporting and processes.
* Prepare detailed reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making.
* Develop and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
* Support the adoption and integration of AI and other advanced tools to enhance data governance and quality processes.
* Work closely with IT, compliance, and business units to ensure alignment of initiatives.
* Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
* Develop project documentation, including business requirements, process maps, and user guides.
* Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote the adoption of new tools and technologies.
* Stay updated with regulatory changes and industry trends related to data governance, automation, and AI.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
* Experience in business analysis, process improvement, or a related role.
* Strong understanding of business analysis frameworks and methodologies.
* Experience with automation tools, AI technologies, and data management systems.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to interrogate and analyse data using various tools such as Excel, SQL, etc.
* Experience in the financial services or insurance industry is preferrable but not essential.
* Familiarity with data governance and privacy laws and regulations e.g. GDPR, DPA, understanding of BCBS239 would be valuable.
* Experience with DAMA aligned Data Quality and Data Governance Principles/Standards would be valuable.
This is a hybrid role which requires attendance to our Cardiff office twice a month.
