Are you a dynamic maternity leader who is experienced in all pillars of governance looking to develop and gain an increasing depth and breadth of experience across the strategic governance platform?
We are looking to recruit an inspiring and influential Head of Women's Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement to work with our Director of Midwifery, multidisciplinary teams, local and corporate governance teams, and strategic partners on all governance duties. The role will lead a cross-site team to deliver a robust, clear, and supportive approach to develop a positive safety culture across the services that are aligned to our strategic aims as a merged trust.
Main duties of the job
In collaboration with the leadership team, the Head of Women's Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement will support the Director of Midwifery and the leadership teams on the strategic quality governance development. They will act as the lead for the development, co-ordination, and implementation of an effective Quality Governance framework within the Service to ensure an integrated approach to patient safety and embedding a safety culture and early escalation of risks and issues. This will include an approach to: Quality and Safety, Risk Management, Patient Experience, and Education and will include a specific remit to ensure robust processes are in place to meet the service's requirements for providing excellence in the delivery of care. To have a responsibility for the line management and performance of identified members of the Women's governance team.

Job responsibilities
The Head of Women's Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement will support service developments and changes, reviewing the associated governance requirements and supporting the assurance processes with a quality improvement approach.
The postholder will work in collaboration across the Local Maternity and Neonatal System to develop key working relationships to support the delivery of national and regional requirements and recommendations which improve the safety and quality of maternity care.
The postholder will demonstrate visible and accessible leadership within services; with a coaching and mentoring approach to support the continued delivery of safe, high-quality clinical care.
The postholder will, in collaboration with the leadership team, role model and ensure professional behaviours are maintained and upheld by all members of the maternity team; an inclusive, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment for staff; alignment with the organisational values and trust vision.
Person Specification
Education/Knowledge/Qualifications
* Registered Midwife
* Master's degree/equivalent postgraduate experience or currently on a Masters Pathway
* Project Management Qualification
* Cognitive Interview Training
* Experience in the implementation of PSIRF
Experience
* Significant perinatal risk management and governance
* Delivery of effective risk management strategies & quality improvements with a wide range of staff
* In-depth and highly developed knowledge and expertise in relation to national and local government requirements in perinatal services
* Supporting maternity services during a CQC inspection
Skills
* Excellent clinical skills
* Ability to recognise and identify themes negatively impacting on care provision
* Ability to communicate effectively with all MDT, system partners, ICB, MVP, Women, parents and families
