Employee Relationship Advisor - 6 Months Fixed Term Contract As an Employee Relations Advisor, you will play a vital role in supporting the People & Culture Team by delivering a comprehensive and professional employee relations service in alignment with our CARE values and behavioural framework. You will provide proactive, consistent, and expert advice on employee relations matters to ensure positive outcomes and adherence to policies and procedures. We are seeking someone with experience in managing both individual and collective consultations, ensuring clear communication, compliance, and fairness throughout. Your role will also focus on maintaining accurate and consistent data records, clear communication, and appropriate escalation when necessary. What your typical day looks like: Building and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues, peers and all our customers; internal and external, with the confidence and ability to challenge professionally, when required. Providing advice and guidance to our managers and our employees with regards to all employee relations matters, in line with DHU policies and procedures, best practice and values; looking for support from the People & Culture or other DHU teams when the need arises. Provide expert advice on employee relations cases, including performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management, and conflict resolution. Manage case documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company policies and legal standards. Lead or support consultations with employees and stakeholders on a variety of workplace matters, ensuring open communication and transparency. Facilitate clear and structured discussions to address employee concerns, gather feedback, and promote fair outcomes. Ensure that consultation processes are conducted in compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Ensure that all advice is consistent, aligned with best practices, and reflective of legal and business requirements. Identify high-risk cases or complex consultations and escalate to senior management when necessary. Recommend resolution strategies to mitigate risk and ensure positive employee relations outcomes. Providing consistent and professional correspondence that are in line with our CARE values, behavioural framework, policies & procedures, best practice & UK legislation. To be a successful Employee Relations Advisor, you will need: A good general standard of education, professional degree level A relevant professional HR qualification (CIPD level 5, or at least level 3, but already working towards level 5) Strong ER generalist experience (Ideally a min of 2 years) Experience of reviewing & creating policies and procedures Previous HR experience within the healthcare sector is desirable. Experience in managing conflicting priorities and workloads to ensure timely and efficient responses. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Confidence and ability to challenge in a professional manner. Ability to meet deadlines and manage expectations.
