Due to an expansion in our service and the addition of another theatre, there are registered nurse posts available in Interventional Radiology Theatres on the QMC campus.
As a Registered Nurse in Interventional Radiology Theatres, you will be responsible for supporting your line manager in delivering safe and high-quality nursing care to our patients who are undergoing interventional procedures. The ideal candidates must be team players, flexible, adaptable, and have the drive to go that extra mile for our patients.
With an excellent senior nurse team in place, we are able to offer a supportive learning environment; you will receive a comprehensive induction programme supported by experienced members of the team and an 8-week supernumerary period.
The service is currently Mon-Fri with an on-call service for out of hours.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Work alongside radiologists as a “scrub nurse” with invasive radiological procedures such as angioplasty, embolisation, stenting, and biopsies.
2. Provide pre and post-operative care in recovery and support interventional work in CT and ultrasound.
3. Demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills.
4. Be an effective role model and provide regular excellent clinical care.
5. Ensure a safe environment is maintained.
6. Develop individualized care plans based on each individual patient's condition.
7. Ensure that all nursing activities are carried out in accordance with individual patient care plans.
8. Maintain accurate documentation.
9. Ensure infection prevention policies are maintained.
