We are recruiting an Administrative & Data Support Officer to provide support to the Hazardous Waste and Waste Classification business unit. The successful candidate will sit within the Hazardous Waste Data and Investigations team, however will work with colleagues across teams to complete essential tasks.
As Administrative and Data Support Officer, you will:
- Support with organisation and delivery of in person and virtual meetings across the unit,
- Track incoming queries and responses, ensuring we meet our agreed lead times,
- Support the unit with document management, ensuring proper use of IT to store, track and deliver work,
- Support our Communications and Engagement lead in the delivery of key content to our stakeholders, through the use of SharePoint and other communications tools,
- Provide a comprehensive support service to the team, ensuring efficient systems are in place to maximise the effective use of team’s time.
The post would suit both full and part time work patterns, and we would welcome applications with flexible working arrangements. We welcome both internal and external applications, and we are committed to supporting the development of all our staff.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be asked to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training will be available to support you with your incident role.
The team
The Hazardous Waste Data and Investigations team sits within Waste Industry Regulatory Services (WIRS), which is part of Environmental Markets and Regulation (EM&R).
We work with colleagues across our department and the wider agency (Environment & Business, Local Operations). Our teams are high performing and deliver priority technical work, supporting waste regimes and providing leadership to national projects. We are experts in data, compliance and waste classification and are committed to our “One Team” ethos.
Experience/skills required
We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:
- Organisation, Time Management and planning skills in order to manage workload and deadlines
- That they are a people person, able to build positive relationships with their colleagues
- Confidence using MS Office, including SharePoint (Although training can be provided)
- Confidence at communicating in a virtual world
- Enthusiastic about continuous improvement and efficiency, making best use of yours and the teams time
