Early Years Practitioner
To work in conjunction with the team under the guidance of the Room Manager/Senior Nursery Nurse to ensure the smooth running of the group and the continuing education and well being of all the children therein.

Early Year Practitioner Responsibilities
You will be responsible for a group of children in the age range 0-5 years – for their pastoral care, curriculum planning, record keeping in partnership with the other team members
* You will be responsible, with the other team members for the safety and welfare of the children in the setting at all times
* Work collaboratively with the group leader and other staff to enable a smooth operation of the day for all parties (children, staff and their families).
* Provide care and learning experiences that follow the settings policies and protocols
The following duties shall be deemed to be included in the professional duties which you may be required to perform:
1. To take responsibility for identifying and meeting the needs of the children in your care at all times.
2. To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
3. To work with other members of the team to provide a safe, stimulating environment for learning and play, including the preparation and tidying of a range of interesting, challenging and fun activities appropriate to the ages and stages of development of the children.
4. To be aware of need to report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the Designated / Deputy Safeguarding Lead or Child Protection Officer as appropriate
5. To work towards providing equal opportunities in all aspects of the work and to abide by agreed policies and practices within the setting.
6. To have a full understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and what is expected from this.
7. To help ensure the nursery meets Ofsted requirements at all times
8. To liaise closely with parents /carers, informing them about the nursery and its curriculum, exchanging information about children’s progress and encouraging parents’ / carers’ involvement
9. To show effective communication skills at all times, and to ensure a high level of courtesy and respect is always shown to children and parents.
10. To follow the planning schedule and rotas as set by the senior member of staff within the team throughout the whole day.
11. To maintain accurate online profiles for each individual child.
12. To be aware of policies and practices within the nursery.
13. To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance registers, accident and incident records etc.
14. To adequately enforce the security policy so that all children are collected by the correct person, and ensure that all children have been signed out on the daily signing in and out sheet.
15. To maintain confidentiality of children and families.
