F&B Receiving & Storeroom Supervisor · £30,700 per annum · 40 Hours per Week
The Standard is one of the most culturally engaged hotels in the world, with a real cultural life, an inclusive spirit, and a true creative attitude. A destination layered with events and amusements that leaves you with an uplifted feeling.
At the cultural heart of The Standard are our team members who bring our spaces to life, engage with our guests, and vibrate social energy, day and night across our numerous bars, restaurants, and event spaces. We seek individuals that bring a unique perspective to our team. We do not ask you to conform, read from a script, or follow the rules (ok, sometimes there are rules), but you should be able to express yourself and celebrate your individuality.
We are now seeking to cast a team of diverse and dynamic individuals that will capture the very essence of The Standard London to join us as a F&B Receiving & Storeroom Supervisor.
Your role
As a F&B Receiving & Storeroom Supervisor at The Standard, London, you will become part of a specialised purchasing team that provides a dedicated procurement service for the hotel and our collection of F&B outlets, including high-volume all-day dining, late-night lounge, busy cocktail bar and grill, garden and roof terraces, plus our exclusive destination restaurant, Decimo, on our top floor.
You will work closely with both the purchasing and back of house managers and be responsible for coordinating orders, receiving deliveries, and distributing goods on behalf of our departmental teams to ensure that par stock levels are maintained across the business. With a meticulous eye for detail, you will ensure that par stock levels are maintained within the general store, that deliveries are inspected, meet standards, and that all food safety controls are managed. As a guardian of our general stores, you’ll be responsible for implementing stock and rotation control measures and play a pivotal role in the monthly stocktake and management of our inventory.
Most importantly, you will ensure you and your team adopt a flexible and hands-on approach with superior communication and negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships on behalf of the business. You will need to be highly social, upbeat, and friendly; confident and able to handle pressure well; thrive in a high volume, high energy environment; and manage relationships with both suppliers and colleagues with ease.
Do you have what it takes to be an F&B Receiving & Storeroom Supervisor at The Standard?
While we take every detail of design and guest experience seriously, we do not take ourselves too seriously. ‘Standard People’ are at the heart of our brand; vivid, dynamic, and engaging. You’ll intrinsically understand the unique context of our venues and city.
While prior experience as a F&B Receiving & Storeroom Supervisor will always be useful, all are welcome at The Standard. Your background may be less conventional; you will have a natural flair for negotiating deals and building genuine relationships with our suppliers. In addition to this, you will also need:
* A proven track record in a similar Purchasing, Stores, Goods Receiving, or Distribution role, ideally gained in a similar ‘Lifestyle’ multi-site restaurant or multi-outlet hotel sector.
* An exceptional knowledge of Food & Drink products combined with a good understanding of stock control procedures.
* A minimum of Food Safety Level 2 with a good understanding of HACCP and maintaining temperature control checks.
* To be highly motivated and pro-active; act with professionalism and positivity in all interactions.
* Exceptional administration and organisation skills with great attention to detail combined with a natural ability and passion for Purchasing.
* Previous experience with Birch Street.
We are defined by our richness of personality and diversity of background and lifestyle, so if you think you have what it takes to be our F&B Receiving & Storeroom Supervisor, we’d love to hear from you.
