Role: Safety Training Coordinator
Location: Rotherham, Sheffield
Salary: £30,000 to £38,000
Adept Resourcing Group is proud to be retained by an internationally renowned steel manufacturing company based in the Sheffield area. Together we are searching for a Safety Training Co-ordinator to provide Health, Safety and training support across their Rotherham site. This role is based at their Rotherham site, but the department also provides services at both the Brinsworth and Stocksbridge sites.
The Role of the Safety Training Coordinator
The Safety Training Coordinator will manage and coordinate with other managers and subject matter experts, the training of all individuals in the Department using internal, external, and own training resources to maintain the required levels of competence and development of all employees.

Key Responsibilities
1. Provide management support to ensure the Department meets the requirements of the company Health & Safety Management System aligned to ISO 45001.
2. Manage and monitor the ongoing performance of a multiskilled workforce regarding Health and Safety.
3. Deliver specific hands-on training and identify training needs and skills gaps.
4. Source and coordinate appropriate internal or external courses.
5. Evaluate the success and effectiveness of completed training and make recommendations.
6. Deliver and improve the new starter's induction programme.
7. Update individual training records on the matrices & INFOR training system.
8. Complete weekly/monthly training reports and ensure all mobile plant operator's licences are kept up to date.
9. Provide advice on Health and Safety issues and assist in the investigation of accidents, injuries, and near misses.
10. Analyze incident statistics and produce action plans to reduce future incidents.
11. Conduct planned and ad-hoc Internal Audits for H&S policy adherence.
12. Assist in the development of materials for Health and Safety meetings.
13. Monitor risk assessment quality and safe systems of work.
14. Liaise with external authorities during investigations or inspectorate visits.
15. Assist in gathering evidence for accident claims against the Company.
16. Ongoing coaching on safety matters for employees and managers.
17. Ensure accurate tracking and analysis of required business and local key performance indicators.
Requirements of the Safety Training Coordinator
1. NEBOSH General certificate (or working towards).
2. A relevant training qualification, i.e., PTLLS, would be advantageous.
3. Experience of delivering training in a classroom environment.
4. Ability to communicate at all levels and good presentation skills.
5. Experience in a Heavy Industry background is desirable.
6. Ability to identify improvement opportunities through data analysis.
7. Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface across all areas of the company.
8. Good levels of IT Skills and capacity for further IT training.
9. Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
The Working Pattern
This is a Monday to Friday Role 8 am - 4 pm.
