Job Title: Construction Plant & Yard Manager Our client is a specialist construction company. They are looking for a Yard/Store Manager/Operative to join their friendly team, administrating the maintenance and issuing of tools, PPE, hired plant, deliveries, stock, fleet management and maintaining / organisation of the yard and stores Main Responsibilities: • Maintaining tools, PAT testing, arranging for servicing and repairs. Maintaining and updating computer records • Managing the fleet of cars and vans, arranging servicing, repairs, replacements. Maintaining and updating computer records • Ordering and controlling stock in and out of our yard and store, ordering supplies • Arranging for hired tools and plant to site • Arranging and ordering of material to site • Arranging for maintenance and upkeep of office and janitorial supplies for the office • Some multiskilled maintenance works • Maintaining and organising the yard and stores including ensuring they are clean, tidy and well organised. • Delivering materials or clearing materials from sites in a 3.5t flatbed lorry. The following are essential: • Ability to communicate to a variety of suppliers, clients and staff • Presentable • Self-motivated • Ability of problem solving with common sense and initiative. • Familiar with IT, in particular Microsoft Outlook and Excel • Desire to muck in with a variety of tasks, from dealing with suppliers to helping to unload a lorry of materials or sweeping the yard • Full driving licence • Whilst not essential, a Forklift trick licence would be beneficial. They would consider training the candidate to use the forklift • Some construction site experience and knowledge
