Job Description
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and engaged Legal Assistants to join our fast-paced Commercial Property team based in our Cardiff city centre office on a full time, permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for those looking to kick start their legal career with Howells and enhance their experience in the legal sector.
This role will provide direct administration support to the fee earners in the Commercial Property team to provide an exceptional client service at all times.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
1. Being the first point of contact with clients, introducers, and other firms via phone and email.
2. Case management.
3. All in-coming and outbound post and correspondence.
4. Preparing initial draft documents to assist the fee earner with the particular transaction.
5. Land Registry applications.
6. Lodging Stamp Duty Land Tax/Land Transaction returns.
7. Ordering conveyancing searches.
8. Carrying out legal research.
9. Supporting the fee earner, line managers or Director in all clerical duties.
10. Going above and beyond in your work.
11. Maintain high levels of client and company confidentiality.
What We’re Looking For
1. Previous experience working in the legal sector, or a similar role is desirable.
2. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Team oriented.
5. Able to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload effectively under pressure and manage conflicting priorities.
6. Proactive and determined.
7. Able to progress tasks using own initiative, seeking guidance and input from others where appropriate.
8. Strong communicator.
9. Highly organised and able to prioritise workloads.
10. Able to cope with changing levels of work.
11. A flexible approach and can-do attitude.
