Technical Support Engineer
Location: Huddersfield / Hybrid
Pay Range: Up to £40,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Omega are supporting UK’s largest Wholesale Distributor of Solar PV, Energy Storage Systems and EV-charging in their search for a Technical Support Engineer. The right candidate will offer support to customers relating to pre-sale and post-sale technical queries, consisting of design & product advice, planning, product application and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Answering telephone, email & webchat technical support to customers relating to pre-sale and post-sale technical queries, consisting of design & product advice, planning, product application and troubleshooting.
2. Documenting call details on the Customer Management system.
3. Helping with queries relating to firmware/communication/settings/fault finding/troubleshooting.
4. Ongoing development of product/industry/regulatory knowledge including in-person and remote supplier training, as well as use of all available supplier online resources.
5. Sharing knowledge with colleagues – both interdepartmental and intradepartmental.
6. Displaying good people skills and the ability to manage customer expectations.
7. Following RMA processes where appropriate.
8. Appreciation of where to cease support.
9. Liaising with manufacturers' technical teams when required.
10. Working on our Brand Ambassador programme – collaborating with other departments with a particular focus on specific brands.
11. Representing the Technical department within project/supplier/customer meetings.
12. Supporting the team with the creation and upkeep of technical documentation.
13. Attending other supplier/event sites for training and providing support for other departmental activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
1. Strong electrical background – installation experience.
2. Working technical knowledge of Solar PV, ESS and EV charging.
3. Computer literate and ability to use CRM system.
4. Technically minded.
