VMU Service Manager
Location: Reading (Fleet VMU site), Berkshire
Salary: £45,000 per annum. Bonus opportunities available.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week. Flexibility required.
Your Role
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Fleet VMU Manager at Rygor Service Solutions, part of the Rygor Group. This role requires leadership by example and the ability to inspire your team.
Your role is key to business success, spending at least 60% of your time managing and guiding your team, ensuring your department achieves its goals through brilliant communication and a positive outlook.
Day to day, you will be:
* Planning and controlling workforce resource availability to meet customer fleet demands.
* Managing and controlling labour costs, including any use of third parties.
* Complying with safety audits and managing the working code of practice for contractors.
* Ensuring optimal design of workplaces and processes.
* Preparing planning and calculations for investments in workshops, facilities, and HR.
* Reviewing prices for workshop services and adapting them to suit the market.
* Measuring and reporting on daily workshop performance.
* Managing WIP and cash control.
* Employing new staff and conducting effective inductions.
* Coaching and motivating employees to retain high-quality team members.
* Defining target agreements with employees and reviewing their achievement levels.
Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:
* Qualifications: Level 3 (NVQ or City and Guilds or IMI Qualification) in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance, with previous experience in a similar role preferred.
* Resilience: Strong coping skills to handle challenges.
* Communication: Engaging and motivating communication skills.
* Motivation: Essential for personal and team success.
* Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks to meet customer demands.
