Job summary An opportunity has arisen for a Maternity Support Workers to join our Women and Children's division at North Bristol NHS Trust, working in the Fetal Medicine Unit and the Antenatal Clinic. As a Maternity Support Worker within our supportive multidisciplinary team, you will play an integral role in providing high quality care during pregnancy, birth and early post-natal days. Main duties of the job There is an exciting opportunity to join the Maternity team at North Bristol, we have a number of vacancies in the antenatal team at Southmead Hospital both on the ward and in the outpatient area, in Mendip Birth Centre and postnatal ward, or the Community Midwifery service. Your key duties will include: Supporting new parents and their families on adapting to parenthood Taking physiological observations and blood tests Being a strong team player, with the ability to work autonomously. Providing chaperoning support to the woman and her partner during clinical examination Working in collaboration with the Midwives. Please see the job description for some further information. About us Our maternity services provide a full range of maternity care. Our dedicated midwives, doctors, maternity care support workers (MCSW's) and support staff are committed to providing personalised care to the highest standards. The service at North Bristol Trust is based at Southmead Hospital and provides a full range of obstetric services for those who live in the catchment of North Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. The maternity department is one of the largest in the country, was awarded 'Good' by the CQC has more than 5200 births each year. The fetal medicine department provides specialist support for families experiencing complicated pregnancies. The antenatal clinic provides outpatient appointments for women who require medical and midwifery care plans for their pregnancy. The Community Midwives provide antenatal and postnatal care for mothers and families in different areas of North Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
