Part Time Teacher / Lecturer of Optical Science & Ophthalmic Dispensing
Aston University Engineering Academy and Sixth Form (AUEA) is the sponsored university Technical College by Aston University, located on Aston's City Centre Campus. Since Sept 2024, AUEA is the national lead for the new Optical Science T Level Qualification for Learners aged 16-19 years old providing pathways to optical science, and DO apprenticeships as well as undergraduate optometry HE courses.
Our course is delivered by University and industry Optometrists and we are now seeking a passionate Teacher / Lecturer of Ophthalmic Dispensing.
This is an exciting opportunity for an DO specialist looking to grow and develop as an outstanding practitioner, including opportunity to gain teaching qualifications. You will join a friendly, supportive and experienced team of Health specialists in modern facilities with dedicated Optom lab and simulation optician store.
The role is offered at 2 days part time flexi, allowing the opportunity to work around existing commitments in industry or HE.

Our T-Level course requires students to spend 20% of time on placements and we are fortunate to be partnered with Specsavers, Boots, Vision Express and many other independent retailers.

* Experience in training or lecturing desired, but training will be provided.
* Have high expectations of students.
* Innovative and creative with excellent interpersonal skills
* Passionate about Optometry & Ophthalmic Dispensing
