Data Governance Manager Hybrid - London Full Time, Permanent Competitive salary plus benefits Join Serco’s UK & Europe division as a Data Governance Manager to provide strategic oversight, leadership, and guidance in all aspects of data governance and data management. As a Data Governance Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in upholding and advancing Serco UK&E's commitment to data privacy, security, and compliance. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and managing the data governance framework, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements like GDPR and CCPA. Your work will have a global impact as you develop and execute the Data Governance framework and standards for Serco UK&E, with an eye toward their applicability across Serco Divisions worldwide. Main responsibilities of the role: Lead the development, implementation and management of the data governance framework, policies, and standards, to ensure data privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as GDPR and CCPA. Develop & execute the Data Governance framework and standard for Serco UK&E, with a view to global applicability across Serco Divisions. Support Data strategy execution and work with other functional and divisional colleagues to execute the Serco UK&Es Data Strategy. Provide internal support to data owners and stewards to implement data governance practices within their domain areas. Implement and establish wider data management competencies within the organisation (such as data quality assurance, metadata management, master data management and development of data standards). Support data risk owners in understanding and managing the organisational data risks and issues, and co-ordinate with data owners, General Counsel, Chief Information Security Officers and other stakeholders to accept and/or resolve them. Work with the learning team and the business to develop and maintain training and guidance relating to data governance. Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve the quality and trustworthiness of data throughout the organisation. What you’ll need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Strong knowledge of Data Governance and Management best practices. Ability to understand and identify business requirements and use cases for data governance. Strong knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practice. Good understand of regulatory and compliance data policies. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. Knowledge of risk management principles and appropriate levels of control. Experience of leading on data governance initiatives. Good understanding of data management concepts such as data cataloguing, business glossaries, and data quality measures. Experience in implementing or maintaining a company wide data governance programme. Experience of governance tools e.g., Microsoft Purview, and Boomi Enterprise Data Catalog products, Informatica Axon, EDC, IDQ or similar glossary, data lineage and cataloguing tools e.g., Collibra or Alation. Experience working in a complex, public sector and global environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and business needs. Must be able to achieve SC clearance upon appointment.
